Bullitt County Veterinary Center

We are a full service veterinary hospital that offers everything from routine vaccinations and surgeries to extensive treatments and emergency service. We pride ourselves in our goal to educate pet owners about proper care for their particular pet. We have a wide variety of educational materials, including videotapes and handouts that are routinely used for this purpose.

Through our Wellness Programs we offer complete preventive care for pets beginning with their first set of vaccinations and continuing throughout their life.
We offer routine services for pets, including spay and neuter surgeries, dentistry, and de-clawing for cats. In addition, we are equipped to perform non-routine surgeries such as orthopedics, caesareans, and more.

Diagnosing and treating sick pets plays a large part in our practice. To this end, we have a blood analyzer to run complete chemistries, and we can do many other in house tests to facilitate the Dr. in diagnosing your pet’s problems. Our hospital is equipped with complete x-ray facilities, including an automatic developer to shorten time of diagnosis. We also have the ability to send x-rays and blood work to a consultant and independent laboratory when necessary.

We have out own pharmacy to dispense medications and carry flea prevention products and heartworm preventative.

Our technicians are trained to help with behavioral problems that you may be having with your pet. We can also advise you on foods, toys, obedience schools and more.
We carry diet foods for those pets with special needs. We can also design a weight loss program for pets that have become overweight,

Our hospital has complete boarding facilities with many different sized cages and runs available. All pets are kept inside, except for those times during the day when they are taken to outdoor runs to exercise and use the restroom. We can accommodate special needs pets, including those needing medication.

We offer grooming services in association with Critter Connection. You may drop your pet off at our clinic in the morning and we will take care of its medical needs, then send it to be groomed. Pets are ready to go home by 5:30 PM. This gives the pet owner the convenience of making just one appointment for their pet’s veterinary abd grooming needs.

Our Dr. sees clients by appointment, but we also accept walk in clients.
Bullitt County Veterinary Center is the only hospital in Bullitt County that offers 24 hour emergency service. While we are NOT open 24 hours a day, our Dr. can be reached through our answering service to provide timely care in emergency situations.

We have a limited number of pets in our adoption program that we endeavor to help find a better life. We feel very strongly about placing pets in homes where they will be loved and regarded as a permanent member of the family.

We realize that financial ability varies, so we are happy to give each client a written estimate of cost for non-routine services after the Dr. examines their pet. We always offer the treatment that we feel will best serve the pet. While we do require payment at the time services are rendered, we offer several payment options, including MC, VISA, DISCOVER, AMEX, and CARE CREDIT. We also encourage clients to purchase health insurance for their pet through a national firm.
